Running the Bridge Programme

Since CFPL (formerly CFEO) founded in 2004, we have worked to encourage hundreds of churches in the UK across different denominations and traditions to support prison leavers. Through the Bridge Programme, we hope to help churches to be the most welcoming communities they can be, that they can be a place of great support and encouragement for prison leavers seeking to grow in their Christian faith and break cycles of re-offending.

Bridge Programme Training

All our resources and materials are free for churches to use. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in finding out more about how you can run the Bridge Programme in your church - we’d love to hear from you!

Below are the Bridge Programme forms we use. We are in contact with Probation for risk assessment information.

Application form - this short form is to be completed by anyone who would like to be a part of the Bridge Programme community on release.

Chaplain's Assessment - this short form helps us to understand the type of support that may be needed.

Our previous CFEO training videos and CFEO handbook for churches are accessible below.

CFEO Handbook for Churches

The handbook is a resource designed for any church who wants to develop a prison leaver ministry in their own community and context, and offers practical tips on setting up a team and issues to consider when supporting individuals as they leave prison.

The resources relating to the care of ex-offenders made available on this website are intended to outline the approach taken by Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) in our work with and care for ex-offenders. HTB does not make any representations that this is the best or only approach to take and each individual or church who views these materials must make their own determination and use them at their own risk. We advise you always to consider your own context, carry out your own risk assessment of your activity in this area and ensure that your activity complies with all relevant legislation.
